Numbers are used extensively in our lives and in fact are used in near enough every field. I cannot think of a field which does not use numbers at all. Our names alone are often not enough to identify who we are, hence in addition to the names we already have, we also have a variety of number identifiers. It could be a student number, employee number or Social Security number and so forth.

It is undeniable that numbers make up a diverse field of study. Could it be that there is more to numbers than just using them as identifiers or for calculations? This is a question that has captivated and intrigued humans for many centuries.

Numerology is one field which has attempted to answer this question. And of course, there is a wide variety intepretations of numbers from different schools of thought.
